Regular Season Round 17: Fujitsu RW - Mitsubishi K. 64-69

Fujitsu RW was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 21-13 charge of Mitsubishi K., which allowed them to win the game. Center Enjin Wantsu (189-87) stepped up and scored 22 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and international forward Chika Sakuragi (179-91) chipped in 14 points and 11 rebounds. Four Mitsubishi K. players scored in double figures. International power forward Megumi Shinohara (184-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds and international forward Moeko Nagaoka (180-93) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. Fujitsu RW's coach Yabuuchi Natsumi tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Mitsubishi K. have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Fujitsu RW. Fujitsu RW lost third consecutive game. Mitsubishi K. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Fujitsu RW will play again on the road against the league's second-placed Mitsubishi K. in Nagoya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
