Regular Season Round 9: Vichy - Monaco 79-65

There was no surprise when 8th ranked Monaco (3-4) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked JA Vichy (5-4) 79-65 on Saturday. JA Vichy made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 24 Monaco turnovers. The best player for the winners was point guard Benjamin Thomas (181-82) who scored 16 points and 7 assists. American power forward Justin Reynolds (204-88, college: Texas A&M-CC) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. Four JA Vichy players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Olivier Bardet (203-80) who recorded 20 points and American forward Travarus Bennett (202-79, college: Minnesota) added 9 points and 13 rebounds respectively. Monaco's coach Jean-Michel Senegal let to play ten players and allowed the starting five to rest. JA Vichy maintains sixth place with 5-4 record. Newly promoted Monaco dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. JA Vichy will face higher ranked Blois (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Monaco will play against Rueil (#13).
