Regular Season Round 8: Waterloo - Toronto Univ. 52-55

Date: November 17, 2012
Very predictable result when top-ranked Toronto (4-0) edged on the road bottom-ranked Waterloo (0-3) 55-52 on Saturday. Waterloo was trailing by 9 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 15-11 charge of Toronto, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 23 Waterloo turnovers. Forward Amanda Lauzon (185) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Rachael Sider (178) contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Forward Mackenzie Lougheed (180) replied with 8 points and 10 rebounds and Swedish guard Erika Persson (178-88) added 11 points in the effort for Waterloo. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Toronto have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-0 record, which they share with Brock and Windsor. Loser Waterloo still closes the standings with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
