Regular Season Round 7: Aris - GAC Eunikos 60-43

Bottom-ranked GAC Eunikos (0-7) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 60-43 loss to sixth ranked Aris (4-3) in Thessaloniki. The game was mostly controlled by Aris. GAC Eunikos was better in third quarter 16-8. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding GAC Eunikos to just 6 points in second quarter. Aris forced 24 GAC Eunikos turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Niki Hatzakou (175-82) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 6 steals. Guard Roula Mouli (177-85) contributed with 8 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Nikolina Ioannidou (174-94) answered with 10 points and 8 rebounds and Eleni Solomou added 6 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for GAC Eunikos. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Aris moved-up to fifth place. GAC Eunikos lost their seventh game in a row. They still closes the standings with seven games lost. They share the position with Panionios. Aris will play against Kronos AD (#6) on the road in the next round. GAC Eunikos will play against Asteras (#10) in Athens and hopes to get finally their first victory.
