Regular Season Round 13: Akita NH - Shinshu BW 75-68

Rather expected game when 5th ranked Shinshu BW (7-5) was defeated on the road by third ranked Akita Happinets (8-2) 75-68. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 26-17. But Shinshu BW won third quarter 20-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Akita Happinets made 17-of-21 charity shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. Forward T.J. Cummings (205-81, college: UCLA, agency: Top Notch Sports) nailed 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and guard Dion Harris (190-85, college: Michigan) accounted for 19 points and 4 assists. Akita Happinets' coach Kazuo Nakamura allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Jermaine Green (203-80, college: N.Texas) came up with 12 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Edward Morris (205-84, college: Pittsburg St.) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Shinshu BW in the defeat. Four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. Akita Happinets maintains third place with 8-2 record having 2 victories less than leader Okinawa GK. Shinshu BW at the other side keeps the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with Shimane SM. Akita Happinets will play against Chiba Jets (#8) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Shinshu BW will play against Tokyo Cinq R. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
