Very expected game in Bilbao where 10th ranked FIATC Joventut (4-4) was defeated by third ranked Gescrap BB (6-2) 80-62 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Gescrap BB. FIATC Joventut was better in third quarter 18-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded FIATC Joventut 37-25 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Roger Grimau (196-79, agency: INVICTUS Sports Group) who scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. The former international forward Alex Mumbru (202-79) chipped in 14 points and 4 assists. Four Gescrap BB players scored in double figures. American forward Tony Gaffney (204-84, college: Massachusetts) produced 14 points and 8 rebounds and American-Georgian point guard Corey Fisher (186-88, college: Villanova) added 11 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Gescrap BB moved-up to second place, which they share with Valencia and G.Canaria 2014. Loser FIATC Joventut dropped to the twelfth position with four games lost. Gescrap BB will face Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (#15) in Madrid in the next round which should be an easy win for them. FIATC Joventut will play on the road against CAI Zaragoza.
