There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Shiga L-Stars (6-6) defeated on the road 4th placed Shimane Magic (7-5) 75-65. Shimane Magic was ahead by 4 points at the halftime before a 47-33 second half run of Shiga L-Stars. American forward Ray Nixon (203-84, college: Wisconsin, agency: Top Notch Sports) nailed 23 points for the winning side and Panamanian forward Dionisio Gomez Camargo (203-80, college: Arkansas) accounted for 16 points and 6 rebounds. point guard Edward Yamamoto (173-86) came up with 16 points and American Benjamin Puckett (205-83, college: Clayton St., agency: I.D.S. Law) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Shimane Magic in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Shiga L-Stars. They maintain sixth place with 6-6 record. Shimane Magic at the other side dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with Shinshu BW. Shiga L-Stars will play against higher ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix (#4) in Mikawa in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Shimane Magic will play on the road against Osaka Evessa and hopes to get back on the winning track.
