Regular Season Round 7: Toyota Alvark - Hokkaido L. 82-70

JBL top team - Toyota Alvark (12-2) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat eighth ranked Hokkaido L. (1-13) in Fuchu 82-70. The game was mostly controlled by Toyota Alvark. Hokkaido L. was better in fourth quarter 24-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Hokkaido L. 37-23 including 22 on the defensive glass. American forward Jeff Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Michael Takahashi (198-74, college: CS Northridge) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. International forward Daisuke Noguchi (196-83) produced 17 points and American forward Joevan Catron (198-88, college: Oregon) added 17 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Toyota Alvark. Defending champion maintains first place with 12-2 record. Hokkaido L. lost their sixth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. Toyota Alvark's next round opponent will be Tochigi Brex (#7) on the road which should be theoretically an easy game. Hokkaido L. will play against the league's second-placed Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya.
