Regular Season Round 13: Saitama Bron. - Toyama Grouses 77-89

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Saitama Broncos (2-8) were defeated at home by second ranked Toyama Grouses (9-5) 89-77. It looked good early as Saitama Broncos took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Toyama Grouses had a 27-14 second period charge getting the lead and Saitama Broncos were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 77-89. Toyama Grouses players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Puerto Rican power forward Angel Garcia (209-88, college: Memphis) nailed 39 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds for the winning side and American forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga, agency: SDJ Sports) accounted for 17 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Yuki Kitamuki (184-85) came up with 18 points and American power forward Randall Orr (207-82, college: Georgia Perimeter) added 8 points and 11 assists respectively for Saitama Broncos in the defeat. Four Saitama Broncos players scored in double figures. Toyama Grouses maintains second place with 9-5 record behind leader Okinawa GK. Saitama Broncos at the other side keep the tenth position with eight games lost. Toyama Grouses will play against Niigata Albirex (#4) at home in the next round. Saitama Broncos will have a break next round.
