There was a surprise result when fifteenth ranked Upea CdO (1-6) won against on the road higher ranked Fileni BPA Jesi (3-4) 83-78 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-78. Upea CdO forced 21 Fileni BPA Jesi turnovers. Fileni BPA Jesi was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American point guard Talor Battle (183-88, college: Penn St.) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 4 assists. Dominican center Otis George (205-82, college: Louisville) contributed with 20 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. The former international center Michele Maggioli (212-77) answered with 25 points and American-Belgian point guard Ryan Hoover (187-74, college: Notre Dame, agency: SportsTalent) added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Fileni BPA Jesi. Four Fileni BPA Jesi players scored in double figures. Upea CdO left bottom position moving up to fourteenth place, which they share with Aget Service IM. Loser Fileni BPA Jesi dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. Upea CdO will face higher ranked Pall.Trento (#9) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
