Bottom-ranked Angelico Biella managed to get a second victory, breaking the four-game losing streak. This time they won against fifteenth-ranked Air Avellino 82-74. It looked good early as Air Avellino took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Angelico Biella had a 25-15 second period charge getting the lead and Air Avellino was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 74-82. Angelico Biella forced 21 Air Avellino turnovers. The winners were led by American forward Craig Brackins (208-87, college: Iowa St.) who scored that evening 22 points and 6 rebounds and American-Qatari guard Trey Johnson (196-84, college: Jackson St., agency: Priority Sports) supported him with 15 points and 5 assists. Even a double-double of 12 points and 13 rebounds by American power forward Linton Johnson (203-80, college: Tulane, agency: Priority Sports) did not help to save the game for Air Avellino. His fellow American import swingman Jeremy Richardson (200-84, college: Delta St.) added 18 points for the hosts. Four Angelico Biella and five Air Avellino players scored in double figures. Angelico Biella (2-6) moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Air Avellino. Air Avellino lost third consecutive game. Angelico Biella will play against higher ranked Umana Venezia (#11) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Air Avellino will play against Enel Brindisi and hopes to get back on the winning track.
