Regular Season Round 6: Maccabi Haifa - Netanya 94-86

There was a change at the Winner League leadership position after last games. Round 6 most important game was a defeat of league's leader GreenTops Netanya (5-1). They were defeated by fourth ranked Maccabi Haifa (4-2) 94-86 on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of GreenTops Netanya. Maccabi Haifa forced 19 GreenTops Netanya turnovers and outrebounded them 40-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American Donta Smith (201-83, college: SE Illinois JC) scored 26 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American-Mexican point guard Paul Stoll (180-85) chipped in 17 points, 7 assists and 4 steals during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard Ramel Bradley (188-85) with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and his fellow American import swingman Deron Washington (201-85, college: Virginia Tech) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Four Maccabi Haifa and five GreenTops Netanya players scored in double figures. Maccabi Haifa moved-up to third place, which they share with Hapoel Eilat and Hapoel T-A. GreenTops Netanya at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Maccabi T-A who have the same record. GreenTops Netanya will play next round against Galil Gilboa trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Maccabi Haifa will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Maccabi Ashdod on the road.
