The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Tuscany Pistoia as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Tuscany Pistoia edged 7th ranked Givova Scafati at home 88-86 in overtime. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Givova Scafati. The hosts were ahead by 6 points but lost the second period ending it with a 4-point deficit before their 17-13 run, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 10-8. It was a great evening for Panamanian swingman Michael Hicks (194-76, college: Texas A&M-CC) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points. American guard Antonio Graves (191-85, college: Pittsburgh, agency: Two Points) helped adding 22 points and 4 assists. Four Tuscany Pistoia players scored in double figures. At the losing side American point guard Keddric Mays (183-84) responded with 34 points (!!!) and 5 steals and power forward Patrick Baldassarre (200-86, agency: Players Group) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Tuscany Pistoia have a solid series of three victories in a row. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Givova Scafati at the other side dropped to the sixth place with three games lost. They share the position with AcegasAps TR and Tezenis VE. Givova Scafati will play next round against Fileni BPA Jesi trying to get back on the winning streak. Tuscany Pistoia will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Novipiu Casale on the road.
