Regular Season Round 12: Centrum - Tromso 68-93

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Centrum (10-3) in Oslo on Sunday night. Hosts were rolled over by Tromso (10-2) 93-68. It was a key game for the top position in the league as both teams had the same 9-2 record before this meeting. The game was mostly controlled by Tromso. Centrum managed to win third quarter 16-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tromso dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Centrum's 36. It was a good game for American forward Jonathan Jones (196-88, college: Kean) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 17 rebounds. The other American import guard Gary Wallace (187-88, college: Robert Morris, agency: TSS Management) contributed with 23 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Tromso players scored in double figures. The former international point guard Mustafa Mahnin (182-80) replied with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Thomas Ble (185-89) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Centrum. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tromso have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Centrum at the other side dropped to the second place with three games lost. Tromso will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
