Regular Season Round 8: CB Canarias - Valencia 69-73

No shocking result in a game in Tenerife where fourth ranked Valencia Basket (6-2) defeated 14th ranked CB Canarias (1-7) 73-69 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 11 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 4 points. The best player for the winners was guard Rodrigo San Miguel (190-85) who scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. International guard Rafael Martinez (191-82) chipped in 17 points. Four Valencia Basket players scored in double figures. American power forward Jakim Donaldson (204-83, college: Edinboro) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Ricardo Uriz (189-80) added 10 points and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. CB Canarias' coach Alejandro Martinez let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Valencia Basket moved-up to second place, which they share with G.Canaria 2014 and Gescrap BB. Newly promoted CB Canarias keeps the fourteenth position with seven games lost. Valencia Basket will face Regal FC Barcelona (#7) at home in the next round where they are favorite. CB Canarias will play against Lagun Aro GBC (#17) in San Sebastian.
