Second Stage Round 4: Sionista - Penarol 82-79

The most important game in the last round took place in Parana between third ranked Penarol (11-5) and ninth ranked Sionista (9-9) on Sunday night. Penarol was edged by Sionista in a tough game on the road 79-82. Penarol was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 21-17 charge of Sionista, which allowed them to win the game. Panamanian power forward Jose Lloreda (203-80, college: LSU, agency: Paris Global Sports) fired 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. The former international power forward Matias Sandes (201-84) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. Sionista's coach Sebastian Svetliza used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American power forward Thomas Terrell (201-79, college: Georgia St.) produced 16 points and 6 rebounds and international point guard Facundo Campazzo (179-91) added 13 points and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Four Sionista and five Penarol players scored in double figures. Sionista moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Atenas. Penarol lost third consecutive game. Defending champion keeps the third position with five games lost. They share it with Libertad S.. Sionista is looking forward to face 9 de Julio (#15) in Rio Tercero in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Penarol will play on the road against the league's leader Lanus (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
