Regular Season Round 13: Sendai 89ers - Yokohama BC 78-95

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Yokohama BC (6-4) won against on the road 9th ranked Sendai 89ers (3-7) 95-78. It looked good early as Sendai 89ers took an 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Yokohama BC took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 17 points. They made 23-of-30 charity shots (76.7 percent) during the game, while Sendai 89ers only scored five points from the stripe. Yokohama BC shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 63.2 percentage. American guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: De Paul, agency: Top Notch Sports) nailed 37 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Global Sports Plaza) accounted for 19 points and 5 rebounds. Four Sendai 89ers players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Yokohama BC maintains sixth place with 6-4 record. Sendai 89ers at the other side keep the ninth position with seven games lost. Yokohama BC will play against league's leader Iwate Big Bulls at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sendai 89ers will play against Gunma (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
