Regular Season Round 9: Perpignan - Arras 71-63

Date: November 18, 2012
Very expected game when 12th ranked Arras (2-7) lost on the road to third ranked Perpignan (7-2) 71-63 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Arras won third quarter 18-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American swingman Angie Bjorklund (183-89, college: Tennessee) nailed 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and Australian center Abby Bishop (189-88) accounted for 12 points and 6 rebounds. Four Perpignan players scored in double figures. Perpignan's coach Francois Gomez used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Bulgarian forward Radoslava Bachvarova (183-87, college: VCU, agency: LBM Management) came up with 20 points and the former international Johanne Gomis (179-85) added 12 points and 6 assists respectively for Arras in the defeat. Perpignan have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Bourges. Arras lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with seven games lost. Perpignan will meet Lyon (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Arras will play against Aix-en-Provence (#9) in Les Milles and hope to secure a win.
