Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Miyazaki Shining Suns (1-11) were defeated at home by eighth ranked Kyoto Hannar. (4-8) 101-87. The game without a history. Kyoto Hannar. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Miyazaki Shining Suns' 34. It was a great shooting night for Kyoto Hannar. especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 71.4 percentage. American center Marcus Cousin (211-86, college: Houston) nailed a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and American-Panamanian forward Leonardo Pomare (203-86, college: San Diego, agency: Top Notch Sports) accounted for 20 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Five Kyoto Hannar. players scored in double figures. Kyoto Hannar.'s coach Honoo Hamaguchi allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Dominique Keller (203-88, college: Illinois) came up with 40 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and the other American import guard Larriques Cunningham (198-88, college: Lee) added 9 points and 5 assists respectively for Miyazaki Shining Suns in the defeat. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Kyoto Hannar.. They maintain eighth place with 4-8 record. Miyazaki Shining Suns lost their eleventh game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 11 games lost. Kyoto Hannar. will play against higher ranked Takamatsu FA (#7) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
