The game in Regina, SK was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Bisons (4-2) played at the court of 7th ranked Cougars (1-5). Bisons defeated Cougars 104-91 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 12 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 13 points. Bisons made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 26 Cougars turnovers. American guard Stephan Walton (178-87, college: Valdosta St.) nailed 32 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals for the winning side and guard Jonar Huertas (183) accounted for 20 points. Walton is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Bisons players scored in double figures. Forward Paul Gareau (201) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and forward Connor Burns (201) added 21 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) respectively for Cougars in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bisons have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Cougars lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with five games lost. They share it with UBC Okanagan and Brandon. Bisons will meet Cascades (#4) in the next round. Cougars will play against Wolfpack in Kamloops, BC and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
