Regular Season Round 9: Levice - Inter Bratislava 73-66

The game between third ranked Inter Bratislava (5-3) and fourth ranked Levice (6-2) was the most important one in the last round on Monday night. Inter Bratislava was defeated by Levice in a tough game in Levice 66-73. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Inter Bratislava was trailing by 10 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 18-10 charge of Levice, which allowed them to win the game. American guard David Kyles (190-89, college: Wichita St.) stepped up and scored 18 points for the winners and his fellow American import point guard Brockeith Pane (188-88, college: Utah St.) chipped in 16 points. Four Levice players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international power forward Martin Rancik (204-78, college: Iowa St.) with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and Serbian guard Nenad Milosevic (190-83) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Levice have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Inter Bratislava at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. Levice are looking forward to face Handlova (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Inter Bratislava will play against Nitra in Nitra and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
