Regular Season Round 6: Kozuv - OKK Beograd 82-77

Bottom-ranked Serbian OKK Beograd (0-5) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 82-77 loss to ninth ranked FYR Macedonian Kozuv (3-3) in Gevgelija on Wednesday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But OKK Beograd won third quarter 20-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Serbian swingman Miladin Pekovic (197-83, agency: BeoExcell) scored 22 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Pero Blazevski (201-72) chipped in 15 points and 6 assists during the contest. Kozuv's coach Marjan Srbinovski used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Stanoje Knezevic (202-89) with 13 points and 5 rebounds and guard Vuk Malidzan (193-88) scored 12 points and 5 assists. Five OKK Beograd players scored in double figures. Kozuv moved-up to eighth place. Loser OKK Beograd still closes the standings with five games lost. Kozuv will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. OKK Beograd will play against Kavala (#9) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
