Regular Season Round 10: Inter Bratislava - Nitra 88-89

The most exciting game of round 10 in the Extraliga took place in Bratislava. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of one of their biggest challengers Inter Bratislava (5-4) to third ranked Nitra (7-3) 89-88 in the game for the third place. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 25-18. But Inter Bratislava won second period 24-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Inter Bratislava 42-28 including 31 on the defensive glass. Bahamas guard J.R. Cadot (195-87, college: TCU) had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international center Branislav Tomek (205-83) chipped in 12 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Montenegrin guard Goran Bulatovic (184-88) responded with 25 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Justin Graham (193-88, college: San Jose St.) scored 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Nitra and four Inter Bratislava players scored in double figures. Nitra have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 7-3 record having just -2 point less than leader Komarno. Inter Bratislava at the other side keeps the fourth place with four games lost. They share the position with Nova Ves. Nitra are looking forward to face Handlova (#7) at home in the next round. Inter Bratislava will play against SKP Banska Bystrica and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
