Rather expected game when 3rd ranked KR (6-4) was defeated on the road by top-ranked Keflavik (10-0) 80-73 on Wednesday. KR trailed by 18 points after 3 quarters before a 27-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 73-80 at the end of the game. Keflavik made 25-of-27 free shots (92.6 percent) during the game. American guard Jessica Jenkins (172-90, college: St.Bonaventure) scored 29 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of her twelve free throws !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and forward Sara Run Hinriksdottir (165-96) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Keflavik's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side the former international power forward Sigrun Amundadottir (181-88, agency: Promotex) responded with 27 points and 6 rebounds (made all of her ten free throws !!!) and American guard Patechia Hartman (170-83, college: Georgia St., agency: Gamble Sports Management) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Keflavik have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-0 record. KR at the other side keeps the third place with four games lost. Keflavik will face Njardvik (#7) at home in the next round where they are favorite. KR's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Reykjavik Fjolnir.
