Regular Season Round 11: Torino - Chieti 77-61

Date: November 21, 2012
No shocking result in a game when second ranked Torino (9-2) defeated at home 9th ranked Chieti (4-6) 77-61 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Torino. Chieti managed to win fourth quarter 17-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Chieti 39-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for naturalized Polish power forward Jakub Wojciechowski (210-90) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 8 rebounds. Power forward Filippo Baldi Rossi (207-91) helped adding 14 points and 16 rebounds. Four Torino players scored in double figures. Torino's coach Stefano Pillastrini used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. point guard Manuel Diomede (188-90, agency: Two Points) responded with 16 points and forward Gaetano Spera (211-93, college: St.Peter's) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Torino have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Matera. Chieti at the other side keeps the ninth place with six games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Torino will meet at home Mazzeo San Severo (#14) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Chieti will play against Naturhouse Ferrara (#13) and hope to secure a win.
