Regular Season Round 9: Den Bosch - Groningen 64-68

Top ranked Den Bosch (8-2) recorded its second loss at the home court. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Groningen (8-3) 68-64. Den Bosch was ahead by 12 points after three quarters before a 26-10 charge of Groningen, which allowed them to win the game. They outrebounded Den Bosch 40-28 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for American guard Jason Dourisseau (196-83, college: Nebraska) who led his team to a victory with 11 points and 8 rebounds. Surinamese forward Sergio de Randamie (201-84, college: Houston, agency: R.H.Consultancy) contributed with 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Groningen's coach Hakim Salem allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Wil Carter (203-88, college: San Jose St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import guard Andre Young (175-90, college: Clemson) added 12 points and 4 assists in the effort for Den Bosch. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Groningen maintains third place with 8-3 record having just -1 point less than leader Leiden. Defending champion Den Bosch still keeps top position with two games lost. They share it with Leiden. Groningen will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Den Bosch will play on the road against Rotterdam and hopes to get back on the winning track.
