Regular Season Round 25: Corr.Victoria - Osos 108-83
Date: November 22, 2012
Rather expected game in Ciudad Victoria where 14th ranked Osos (4-21) were crushed by eleventh ranked Correcaminos (9-16) 108-83 on Thursday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 108-83. Correcaminos shot 64.9 percent from the field and made 23-of-26 free shots (88.5 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Correcaminos especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. Americans were the main players on the court. Forward Rodney Alexander (201-87, college: Oklahoma City) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners and point guard Myron Allen (182-79, college: Lee JC) chipped in 22 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. Four Correcaminos players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Nick Stallings (190-83, college: Centenary, LA) responded with 24 points and 4 assists and guard DerMarr Johnson (206-80, college: Cincinnati) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Correcaminos maintains eleventh place with 9-16 record. Newly promoted Osos keep the fourteenth position with 21 games lost. Correcaminos will face bottom-ranked Gigantes (#16) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Osos will play against Huracanes in Tampico.
