Regular Season Round 8: Tochigi Brex - Toyota Alvark 58-91

JBL top team - Toyota Alvark (14-2) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Tochigi Brex (3-13) 91-58. The game without a history. Toyota Alvark led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Worth to mention a quality performance of American forward Jeff Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international forward Michael Takahashi (198-74, college: CS Northridge) who added 15 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) during the contest. Five Toyota Alvark players scored in double figures. International forward Tomoo Amino (196-80) responded with 12 points and 8 rebounds and the former international center Daiji Yamada (200-81) scored 9 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Toyota Alvark have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 14-2 record. Loser Tochigi Brex keeps the seventh place with 13 games lost. Toyota Alvark will face Mitsubishi Dolphins (#6) in Nagoya in the next round where they are favorite. Tochigi Brex will play at home against Toshiba Thunders in Kanagawa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
