Regular Season Round 6: Batumi - TSU Tbilisi 61-74

Very significant was TSU's (#8) 74-61 road victory against 7th ranked Batumi. The game was mostly controlled by TSU. Batumi was better in second period 17-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Batumi's 30. TSU forced 19 Batumi turnovers and outrebounded them 48-37 including 18 on the offensive glass. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Point guard Givi Bakradze (185-91) notched 18 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals to lead the effort and Serzhi Aselaini supported him with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Even a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds by the former international forward Lasha Keshelava (200-81) did not help to save the game for Batumi. Nika Ramishvili (179-94) added 18 points and 5 rebounds. TSU (2-4) moved-up to seventh place. Batumi at the other side dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. TSU's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi Armia.
