Saint-Quentin (#8) forced the game against Pau-Lacq-Orthez (#2) into an overtime, but lost by three points 98-101 on Friday night. The game took place in Saint-Quentin. But the guests from Pau were better at the end. Saint-Quentin was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 18-16 charge of Pau-Lacq-Orthez, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 15-12. Pau-Lacq-Orthez shot 61.5 percent from the field. Saint-Quentin was plagued by 34 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American forward Charles Jackson (203-87, college: Hawaii-Pacific, agency: Court Side) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points and 7 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field). His fellow American import forward Brian Boddicker (204-81, college: Texas) helped adding 18 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Power forward Julien Lesieu (201-83) responded with 22 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized American point guard Jimmal Ball (179-78, college: Akron, agency: ACMT) scored 14 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Pau-Lacq-Orthez (9-2) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Evreux. Newly promoted Saint-Quentin dropped to the ninth place with six games lost. Pau-Lacq-Orthez will face league's leader ALM Evreux at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Saint-Quentin will play against JL Bourg (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
