Regular Season Round 11: UBC Okanagan - Regina 64-76

Rather predictable result when second ranked Regina (7-1) won against 6th ranked UBC Okanagan (3-5) in Kelowna 76-64 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Regina forced 25 UBC Okanagan turnovers. Center Brittany Read (188-89) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points and 6 rebounds. American guard Michelle Clarke (170-88, college: Purdue) contributed with 15 points and 7 steals for the winners. Regina's coach Dave Taylor used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Emily Kanester (168) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and center Krystal Schouten (185) added 20 points in the effort for UBC Okanagan. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Regina. They maintain second place with 7-1 record having just -5 point less than leader UFV. Loser UBC Okanagan dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
