Regular Season Round 11: Concordia - McGill 68-69

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Stingers (3-1) in Montreal, QC on Saturday night. Hosts were edged by Redmen (3-0) 69-68. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Stingers. It was a key game for the top position in the league as both teams had the same 2-0 record before this meeting. Stingers were trailing by 6 points at halftime but managed to get 7-point lead after three quarters before a 22-14 charge of Redmen, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for forward Vincent Dufort (195) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds. Guard Christian McCue (188) helped adding 13 points. Guard Jerome Blake (180) responded with 20 points and Ivorian forward Kafil Eyitayo (201) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Redmen have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Stingers at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
