Round 11 in Extraliga means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Nova Ves where host Nova Ves (6-4) beat league's leader Komarno (7-2) 85-73 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Komarno. The game without a history. Nova Ves led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was point guard Maurice Acker (178-87, college: Marquette, agency: Edge Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 assists. Power forward Dwight Burke (202-86, college: Marquette) chipped in 22 points and 9 rebounds. Burke is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Forward Kevin Thompson (205-89, college: Morgan St.) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds and point guard Chris Lowe (182-87, college: Massachusetts, agency: KMG Sports Management) added 16 points, 7 assists and 4 steals respectively for the guests. Five Komarno players scored in double figures. Nova Ves moved-up to fourth place. Komarno at the other side dropped to the second position with two games lost. They share it with Levice. They were replaced at the leadership position by Nitra. Komarno will play next round against strong Levice trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Nova Ves will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Prievidza at home.
