Regular Season Round 9: Bologna - Ragusa 54-60

An interesting game for Ragusa (9-0) which played road game in Bologna against second-best Meccanica NB (6-2). Leader Ragusa managed to get a 6-point victory 60-54. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Meccanica NB. Ragusa made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Meccanica NB turnovers. It was a good game for Greek power forward Peli Papamichail (189-86, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks. The former international guard Paola Mauriello (185-81) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. point guard Elisabetta Tassinari (171-94) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Francesca Santarelli (172-94) added 11 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Meccanica NB. Four Meccanica NB players scored in double figures. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Ragusa. They maintain first place in South with 9-0 record. Loser Meccanica NB keeps the second position with two games lost. Ragusa will face league's second-placed Min.Battipaglia at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Meccanica NB will play against T. La Spezia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
