Regular Season Round 9: CFBB - Dunkerque 67-80

Bottom-ranked CFBB (0-7) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 80-67 loss to tenth ranked Dunkerque (2-6) in Paris on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-67. Dunkerque made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Dunkerque especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. Latvian power forward Dace Brumermane (187-81, agency: Josep and Nicolas) stepped up and scored 23 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and guard Melissa Micaletto (165-90) chipped in 16 points. The best for the losing side was forward Katia Clanet (187-96) with 12 points and 6 rebounds and forward Clarince Djaldi-Tabdi (183-95) scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. Dunkerque moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Roche. Loser CFBB still closes the standings with seven games lost. Dunkerque will meet at home higher ranked SIG (#8) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. CFBB will play against Reims (#7) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
