Gorizont (#3) forced the game against Olimpia GrGAU (#1) into an overtime, but lost by two points 66-68 on Saturday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Gorizont won fourth quarter 18-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Gorizont used huge pressure winning it 18-13 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 3-5. Olimpia GrGAU forced 21 Gorizont turnovers. Strangely Gorizont outrebounded Olimpia GrGAU 50-38 including 16 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Russian-Ukrainian center Lyubov Alyoshkina (203-81) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Maryia Papova (186-94) contributed with 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Five Olimpia GrGAU players scored in double figures. International swingman Tatsiana Likhtarovich (180-88, agency: LBM Management) answered with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and Russian forward Kristina Alikina (187-86, agency: LBM Management) added 8 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Gorizont. Gorizont's coach Anatoly Buyalskiy rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Olimpia GrGAU (5-0) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with a perfect record of 5 victories in a row. Defending champion Gorizont keeps the third position with two games lost. Olimpia GrGAU's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Grodno Victoria-UOR.
