There was a minor upset when 4th placed Shanghai Octopus (5-4) were defeated at home by seventh ranked Beijing Great Wall (5-4) 81-75 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-75. Beijing Great Wall outrebounded Shanghai Octopus 37-24 including 22 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American forward Sophia Young (186-83, college: Baylor) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. Center Hui Zhao (196-82) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Camille Little (188-85, college: N.Carolina) who recorded 25 points and 8 rebounds and guard Ni Zhang (175-84) added 20 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Beijing Great Wall. They moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Shanghai Octopus. Beijing Great Wall will face Qujing Yunnan (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Shanghai Octopus will play against the league's leader Shanxi in Taiyuan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
