Regular Season Round 14: Toyama Grouses - Niigata Albirex 76-88

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Toyama Grouses (9-6) against fourth ranked Niigata Albirex (9-4) on Saturday night. Host Toyama Grouses were defeated by Niigata Albirex in Toyama 88-76. Toyama Grouses were tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Niigata Albirex shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 68.4 percentage. They brought some defensive toughness making 12 blocks. American guard Nile Murry (193-83, college: TCU) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 7 rebounds. Kimitake Sato (184-84) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Puerto Rican power forward Angel Garcia (209-88, college: Memphis) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and American forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga, agency: SDJ Sports) added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Toyama Grouses. Five Toyama Grouses players scored in double figures. Niigata Albirex moved-up to second place, which they share with Oita H.Devils. Toyama Grouses at the other side dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. Niigata Albirex will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Toyama Grouses will play again at home against Niigata Albirex (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
