Regular Season Round 11: Cape Breton - Dalhousie 59-70

There was no surprise when 5th ranked Cape Breton (1-4) lost to third ranked Dalhousie (4-1) in Sydney 59-70 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 41-26 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Dalhousie forced 20 Cape Breton turnovers. Forward Tessa Stammberger (178) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Anna Von Maltzahn (180-91) contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Guard Tanira McClurkin (163) answered with 21 points and guard Brittany Hollins (165) added 11 points in the effort for Cape Breton. Dalhousie maintains third place with 4-1 record having just one point less than leader UFV. Cape Breton lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Dalhousie will face higher ranked Huskies in Halifax, NS in the next round.
