Regular Season Round 11: Memorial - New Brunsw. 75-60

The game between closely ranked teams ended with seventh ranked Memorial's (2-5) home victory over bottom-ranked UNB (0-5) in St. John's 75-60 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Memorial. UNB was better in fourth quarter 16-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Memorial forced 26 UNB turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Guard Emily Jameson (178-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 4 steals. Forward Grace Fishbein (180-90) contributed with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the winners. Four Memorial players scored in double figures. Guard Claire Colborne (183) answered with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Colleen Daly (163) added 8 points in the effort for UNB. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Memorial moved-up to fifth place. UNB lost their fifth game in a row. They still closes the standings with five games lost. Memorial will face again UNB (#8) in Fredericton in the next round.
