Regular Season Round 15: Shinshu BW - Tokyo Cinq R. 89-82

Rather predictable result when fifth ranked Shinshu BW (9-5) won against 7th ranked Tokyo Cinq R. (5-9) in Nagano 89-82 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 89-82. Shinshu BW made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. It was a good game for American power forward Edward Morris (205-84, college: Pittsburg St.) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Jermaine Green (203-80, college: N.Texas) contributed with 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Shinshu BW's coach Takatoshi Ishibashi allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American center Jonathan Jones (211-79, agency: TSS Management) answered with 26 points and 7 rebounds and guard Cohey Aoki (167-80) added 15 points and 5 assists in the effort for Tokyo Cinq R.Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Shinshu BW moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Tokyo Cinq R. dropped to the ninth position with nine games lost. Shinshu BW will face league's leader Iwate Big Bulls on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tokyo Cinq R. will play against Saitama Broncos (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
