Regular Season Round 10: KaU Koris - TuNMKY 83-59

Everything went according to plan when first ranked KaU Koris (8-3) outplayed 3rd ranked TuNMKY (6-4) in Karkkila 83-59 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-59. KaU Koris dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to TuNMKY's 22. Quite impressive performance for guard Kimmo Tolvanen (193-77) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 5 rebounds. Center Tomi Sakala (203-80) contributed with 18 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four KaU Koris players scored in double figures. KaU Koris' coach Joonas Iisalo felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Sakari Salminen (200-87) replied with 19 points and 9 rebounds and guard Timo Humalamaki (184-84) added 6 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for TuNMKY. Newly promoted KaU Koris maintains first position in Division with 8-3 record. TuNMKY at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the third place with four games lost. KaU Koris will face Jarvenpaa (#5) on the road in the next round. TuNMKY will play against the league's second-placed Kerava Energia Team and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
