Regular Season Round 10: Huima - Porvoon Tarmo 68-80

Very predictable result when first ranked Porvoon Tarmo (9-1) won against 6th ranked Aanekosken Huima (4-5) in Aanekoski 80-68 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Porvoon Tarmo. Aanekosken Huima was better in fourth quarter 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Porvoon Tarmo dominated on the defensive end, holding Aanekosken Huima to just 6 points in first quarter. Porvoon Tarmo made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Aanekosken Huima was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated also this game. Quite impressive performance for forward Jerrah Young (201-85, college: Toledo) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds. Guard Vernon Taylor (190-87, college: Troy) contributed with 20 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for the winners. Worth to mention Young played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Five Porvoon Tarmo players scored in double figures. Guard DeAndre Mays (188-87, college: Youngstown St., agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) replied with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Andre Stephens (202-87, college: S.Mississippi) added 15 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Aanekosken Huima. Aanekosken Huima's coach let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Porvoon Tarmo maintains first position in Division with 9-1 record. Loser Aanekosken Huima keeps the sixth place with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
