There was no surprise when 10th ranked Fileni BPA Jesi (3-5) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Givova Scafati (5-3) 88-70 on Sunday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Givova Scafati's pressure prevailed and they won that period 31-19 extending their advantage to 18 points. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Keddric Mays (183-84) who helped to win the game recording 24 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and the former international swingman Andrea Ghiacci (200-81) who added 15 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Givova Scafati players scored in double figures. Givova Scafati's coach Maurizio Bartocci used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international center Michele Maggioli (212-77) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and American forward Eric Griffin (203-90, college: Campbell) scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Givova Scafati moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Tezenis VE and Novipiu Casale. Loser Fileni BPA Jesi dropped to the eleventh position with five games lost. Givova Scafati will face league's second-placed Biancoblu BO in Bologna in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Fileni BPA Jesi will play at home against Prima Veroli (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
