Novipiu Casale (#4) forced the game against Tuscany Pistoia (#1) into an overtime, but lost by two points 91-93 on Sunday night. The game took place in Casale. But the guests from Pistoia were better at the end. The guests trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 23-12 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 14-12. Worth to mention a great performance of Panamanian swingman Michael Hicks (194-76, college: Texas A&M-CC) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 4 assists and American guard Antonio Graves (191-85, college: Pittsburgh, agency: Two Points) who added 24 points and 4 assists during the contest. American swingman Rodney Green (195-88, college: La Salle) responded with 39 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Casper Ware (177-90, college: Long Beach St.) scored 21 points. Five Tuscany Pistoia and four Novipiu Casale players scored in double figures. Tuscany Pistoia have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-1 record. Novipiu Casale at the other side dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. Tuscany Pistoia will have a break next round. Novipiu Casale will play at home against LeGamberi Foods Forlì (#10) in Forli and be promoted back to the SerieA just one year after relegation.
