Regular Season Round 9: Broni - Marghera 51-52

Important game to mention about took place in . Fourth ranked Marghera (7-2) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 7th ranked Broni (4-5) 52-51 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Broni. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Broni won third quarter 11-7. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Point guard Sara Innocenti (170-92) stepped up and scored 11 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and power forward Alice Romagnoli (190-84) chipped in 8 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Latvian center Liga Surkusa (194-91) with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and swingman Giulia Leva (180-91) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Broni's coach Paolo Fassina rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Marghera have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to third place in North, which they share with Milano. Newly promoted Broni keeps the seventh position with five games lost. They share it with Alghero and Udine. Marghera will play against Valmadrera (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Broni will play against Virtus Cagliari (#14) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
