Very important is a road loss of third ranked Niigata Albirex (9-5) against fourth ranked Toyama Grouses (10-6) on Sunday night. Visiting Niigata Albirex was defeated by Toyama Grouses in Toyama 81-70. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Niigata Albirex. Toyama Grouses brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. It was a great evening for Masashi Joho (183-82) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points and 8 rebounds. Niigata Albirex's coach Matt Garrison tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Toyama Grouses moved-up to second place which they share with defeated Niigata Albirex. Niigata Albirex at the other side dropped to the second position with five games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Toyama Grouses will play against Yokohama BC (#6) on the road in the next round. Niigata Albirex will play against Akita Happinets (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
