There was no surprise in Hangzhou where 11th ranked Heilongjiang Chenneng (3-7) was defeated by second ranked Zhejiang Far East (7-3) 97-88 on Tuesday. Heilongjiang Chenneng trailed by 16 points after 3 quarters before a 28-21 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 88-97 at the end of the game. Australian center Elizabeth Cambage (203-91) fired 27 points and 5 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) for the winners. The former international swingman Lan Bian (185-86) chipped in 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international guard YanYan Ji (182-85) produced 35 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds (on 16-of-21 shooting from the field) and American center Sasha Goodlett (195-90, college: Georgia Tech) added 18 points and 13 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Zhejiang Far East have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 7-3 record behind leader Shanxi. Loser Heilongjiang Chenneng dropped to the bottom place with seven games lost. Zhejiang Far East will face Jiangsu Phoenix (#10) in Yixing in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Heilongjiang Chenneng will play on the road against Bayi Kylin in Yinzhou.
