Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Huracanes (14-12) lost to seventh ranked Fuerza Regia (15-12) in Tampico 80-94 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Fuerza Regia. Huracanes was better in fourth quarter 33-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fuerza Regia dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Huracanes' 40. It was a good game for American forward Mo Charlo (201-83, college: Nevada) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 9 rebounds. Center Lance Allred (211-81, college: Weber St., agency: SportsTalent) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four Fuerza Regia players scored in double figures. American swingman Marcus Morrison (198-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import swingman Edward Basden (196-83, college: Charlotte) added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Huracanes. Fuerza Regia maintains seventh place with 15-12 record, which they share with Abejas. Loser Huracanes keep the ninth position with 12 games lost. Fuerza Regia will face Barreteros (#10) in Zacatecas in the next round. Huracanes will play against Gansos.
