Regular Season Round 7: Maccabi K/B - Maccabi K/G 100-95

Maccabi Kiryat Bialik's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after six consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Maccabi K/G (1-5) 100-95. Maccabi Kiryat Bialik made 34-of-39 charity shots (87.2 percent) during the game. Maccabi K/G was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated the game. It was a great evening for forward Dallis Joyner (201-90, college: Stony Brook) who led his team to a victory scoring 29 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Matt Shamis (182-88, college: Lehigh) helped adding 34 points (!!!) (made all of his twelve free throws !!!). Four Maccabi Kiryat Bialik players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Will Harris (198-86, college: Albany) responded with 36 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and swingman Akeem Wright (200-84, college: Kansas St.) scored 21 points and 9 rebounds. Maccabi Kiryat Bialik (1-6) left bottom position moving up to thirteenth place, which they share with Kiryat Tivon. It was Maccabi K/G's third loss in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with five games lost. Maccabi Kiryat Bialik will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Maccabi K/G will play at home against Hapoel Afula (#6) to get more than just one victory in their record.
